Lovato and Garner are critics who will appear as special guests, with Platt on the roster of performers at the LGBTQ media advocacy ceremony, which will be broadcast live on July 30.
The GLAAD 2020 Media Awards are presented on Thursday evening at a virtual ceremony.
Organized by comedians Fortune Feimster and Gina Yashere, the event combines the separate events of the media law firm LGBTQ in New York and Los Angeles into one live show. The virtual event will recognize 175 nominees and 30 winners in the categories of film, comics, games, English and Spanish television and journalism. For the first time, GLAAD will also reveal the winner of its very first popular TV fan award, which was voted out by fans.
The GLAAD Media Awards 2020 will also feature performances by Ben Platt, Chloe x Halle and singing activist Shea Diamond.
Other stars to appear during the celebration include Demi Lovato, Jennifer Garner, Lilly Singh, Charli XCX, Kandi Burruss, Theo Germaine, August Getty, Gigi Gorgeous Getty & Nats Getty, Harvey Guillén and Darryl Stephens.
Join a long list of previously confirmed guests, including Dolly Parton, Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union, Lil Nas X, cast and producers pose, Dan Levy, Rachel Maddow, Raquel Willis, Olivia Wilde and others. Winners are already announced on GLAAD’s Twitter account. The awards announced so far for Taylor Swift, Ryan Murphy, Judith Light and Janet Mock will be awarded later.
The live broadcast will be available to watch at 17:00 PT / 20:00 ET on GLAAD’s Facebook and YouTube accounts. The recorded version of the 31st Annual Ceremony will be broadcast on the Logo on August 3.
