We moderate comments. Our goal is to provide a fundamental commentary for general readers. By screening posts, we provide a space where readers can share intelligent and informed commentary that enhances the quality of our messages and information.
While most comments are published if they are on the subject and not offensive, moderating decisions are subjective. We will do them carefully and consistently, as we know. Due to the number of reader comments, we are unable to review individual moderation decisions with readers.
We appreciate thoughtful comments, which represent a number of opinions and which express their opinion quickly and politely. We try to protect discussions from repeated comments by the same reader or different readers
We adhere to the same standards of taste as daily newspapers. A few things we won̵7;t tolerate: personal attacks, obscenity, vulgarity, vulgarity (including fillings and letters followed by hyphens), commercial promotion, impersonation, discrepancy, proselytization, and Screaming. Do not include website URLs.
We do not edit comments. They are approved or deleted. We reserve the right to edit a comment that is quoted or exhausted in the article. In this case, we can correct the spelling and punctuation.
We welcome the strong views and criticisms of our work, but we do not want the comments to be incorporated into the discussions on our policies and we will moderate accordingly.
We appreciate it when readers and people mentioned in articles or blog posts point out mistakes in fact or emphasis and examine all claims. However, these proposals should be sent by e-mail. To avoid distractions from other readers, we will not post comments that suggest a correction. Instead, corrections are made to the blog post or article.
