NHL announces that it has suspended Garnet Hathaway three spitting games on Eric Gudbranson during the second period of Wednesday's game. Hathaway met the NHL this morning.
Hathaway will also forfeit $ 24,193.53 of his salary to the Emergency Aid Fund.

Hathaway regretted Gudbranson when Canucks defended him, defending him functionaries held separately from two players. After the match Hathaway expressed regret, but apologized. He said spitting "had no place (in game)." Gudbranson responded by saying that the incident was about as low as hockey behavior gets.
