Jessica Simpson opens up more information about the abuse she experienced as a child and how her recent memory of the “Open Book” helped her lead to forgiveness.

The 40-year-old singer released an autobiography on February 4. In it, for the first time, she publicly revealed that she was abused by the daughter of a family friend. The abuse began when she was 6 years old and shared a bed with her rapist during family visits to her house.

The mother of three appeared on Katarina Schwarzenegger Pratt’s “Gift of Forgiveness” on the podium to explain the steps she has taken in recent years to overcome childhood trauma. She also admitted that she had recently sent a copy of her monograph to her rapist.

“I’d say I confronted her about eight years ago,” Simpson explained. “I went to her and I just said, ‘I know you know what’s going on, and I know you were abused because she was abused by an older guy. He never touched me, but he would abuse her and then she would come to me and do things to me. In many ways, I felt bad for her and allowed her to be abused. ‘ “

Simpson reminded the girl that she knew she had “a lot to do” and urged her to “talk to someone.”

The fashion designer promised that she no longer wanted to “live by denying” what had happened. It was also around the time she divorced Nick Lachey and “sought the soul.”

“I was just where I was celibate and on this journey to explore for myself, and I knew I couldn’t move forward without knowing it,” Simpson said.

The “irresistible” singer said that while her abusive wife remained in her life, she decided to send her a copy of her monograph.

“I even sent her a book and told her I hoped it would heal,” Simpson said.

Chris Pratt’s wife podcast is a platform where it welcomes guests to discuss their life stories, all based on forgiveness. In the episode, Simpson repeated some of the details she revealed in the book, such as the neat abuse of her parents six years after it began.

“Then they took action and I never had to go back,” said Simpson Schwarzenegger Pratt.

Simpson also admitted in the Open Book that she first dealt with the trauma when she turned to alcohol and pills.

“I killed myself with all the drinks and pills,” Simpson admitted in an excerpt published for the first time in People magazine.

She said her rock bottom came in November 2017, when she finally admitted to her friends that she needed help.

“I have to stop.” Something has to stop. And if alcohol does it and it makes things worse, I’m done, “Simpson said.

Today, Simpson is married to former NFL star Eric Johnson. They share three children: daughters Maxwell Drew (8) and Birdie Mae (1) and a son, Ace Knute (7).
