Jennifer Holliday took us to church in honor of John Lewis

Singer Jennifer Holliday sang on Thursday at the funeral service of Congressman John Lewis, which took place at the Baptist Church of Ebenezer in Atlanta.
The event limited a six-day memorial to Lewis, a beloved civil rights icon.

Holliday first became famous as an award-winning Tony member in the original cast of Dreamgirls Broadway. Her rendition of “And I’m Telling You” is now legendary.

She attended the middle stage in Ebenezer to honor Lewis with the anthem: “Only what you do for Christ will last.”

“Perhaps you are looking for earthly strength and glory. And the world could be amazed by its big name, “she sang. “Soon the glory of this life will be a thing of the past. But only what you do for Christ will last. ”

Holliday sparked her will in 201
7 after agreeing to perform at a welcome concert by President Donald Trump.
She later changed her mind about speaking out, citing opposition from the LGBTQ community, which has long supported her.

Holliday was not the only singer to relocate those who attended the funeral.

Famous gospel singers Marvin Winans and his brother BeBe Winans gave an exciting performance of “Good Problem”.

Marvin Winans shared that he, Bebe and their sister CeCe Winans sang for Lewis in the last days of his life.

He and his brother then led those who had gathered to perform one of the songs they sang for Lewis: “We will overcome.”
