“Monumental Change: The George Floyd Memorial Project”; was created by Change.org and the George Floyd Foundation. Floyd’s family was able to get a demonstration on Monday night during a private event held at the site of a former Jefferson Davis monument.
“Since my brother George’s death, his face has been seen around the world,” said Rodney Floyd, George Floyd’s brother. “Now, in partnership with Change.org, the hologram will allow my brother’s face to be seen as a symbol of change in places where change is most needed.”
According to the news, the hologram show has “countless fireflies that form a beautiful image of Georg Floyd”. His name is depicted on graffiti that reflects murals that have appeared around the world to commemorate his life.
The Lee Statue event is just the first of five stops in North Carolina, Georgia and other countries this week. The hologram will replace the Confederate statues as “a symbolic call to continue the fight for racial justice,” according to the 1961 Freedom Rides hologram, “said the project’s organizers.
Ceremonies, musicians, poets and leaders will take part in the launch of this product.
