According to several reports, a man in Florida is accused of fatally obscuring two men and injuring a woman with a baseball bat, while a 10-year-old police phone is called from a nearby room.
Ezekiel Emanuel Hopkins, 34, allegedly broke down on the property of John and Lisa Savey’s Windermere home late Thursday by driving the vehicle to the gate at the entrance. Then he tried to steal the car before the couple stopped it. According to Police Chief Windermere David Ogden and the local Fox 35 Orlando branch.
“He attacked John Savey and left him dead outside the residence. The defendant then entered the residence and attacked Lisa Savey, who retreated to her house,”; Ogden said during a related press conference. “The defendant also attacked John and Lisa Savey’s son.” “James Savey, who left him dead in the house.”
John and Lisa’s grandson, James’ nephew, kept calling 911 from the bathroom where his grandmother had told him to hide.
“I don’t believe the family was focused,” Ogden said. “I believe he was trying to find another vehicle to steal because he saw some police officers before he looked at it.”
Hopkins was discovered in another bathroom. According to the report, he did not react to the suspicion of the police that he drank bleach.
He was taken to a nearby hospital and charged with murder and an overloaded battery.
The woman was seriously injured and thrown into hospital.
“Words really can’t describe what we want to say to the family,” Ogden said. “It’s a terrible situation.”
