Florida coronavirus: High school graduates said quarantine after graduating from fresh air

Bayside High School in Palm Bay, Florida, hosted an outdoor graduation ceremony for seniors last Saturday, an event that appears to have followed coronavirus safety guidelines.

However, someone who attended the event was tested positive for coronavirus after the ceremony, said Anita Stremmel, assistant director of the Department of Health in Brevard County, Florida. The school district informed the medical department, which confirmed the result with a laboratory test.

As a precautionary measure, the health ministry told parents that their children must “quarantine at home 1

4 days after the last visit to the facility,” according to a ministry letter from CNN.

Parents and close contact with students who may have been exposed were advised to quarantine themselves and to monitor for symptoms written by the Ministry of Health.

The school district has created a security protocol for personal graduations. The footage the school shared with the event showed students outside on a school football field sitting a few feet apart. They wore masks, as did the whitening participants.

The medical department did not confirm whether the person who was positive for the coronavirus was a student or an adult. The students received each guest in pairs, and about 30 adults and district school staff were present at the event, a CNN spokesman for Brevard County Public School said.

The faculty, wearing gloves and masks, presented students with diplomas as they walked the stage. When the speakers laid down the stage, they removed the masks only from the speakers. After the ceremony, the students formed small groups.

Florida is taking over new records for coronavirus and death cases when the state passes 450,000 cases. More than 6,300 people died, and children’s coronavirus hospitalizations rose by 23% this week. The state says schools must be reopened for teaching people, although many districts give parents the option to withdraw from the contract so that their students can study online.
