Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Joe Kelly was suspended for eight games Wednesday Wednesday for throwing and ridiculing Houston Astros players.
Fans and even some players have expressed outrage over the league’s decision to suspend Kelly. Many saw Kelly throwing Alex Bregman and Carlos Correa in retaliation for the scandal cheating Astros during the 2017 season. No active Astros players were suspended during the scandal.

It is worth noting that Kelly was in the 2017 and 2018 seasons at the Boston Red Sox. The Red Sox defeated the Astros at the 2018 American League Championships on their way to their own World Series title. Boston has also been punished for its own cheating system this season.
Nevertheless, emotions rose on Twitter.
The benches were emptied Tuesday night in Los Angeles on Tuesday night when they defeated Houston 5-2 on Tuesday night.

Kelly buzzed the heads of Bregman and Correau in the sixth inning. He threw himself behind Bregman to cause a walk and his pitch for Correa was overhead. However, Kelly denied that he had intentionally thrown at Astros’ heads.
“No. When I was with the Red Sox, we beat them in 18,” he said, “it’s one of the things I presented in the competition.” If there are no fans, it’s easy to hear some things (from the opposite mailboxes) … there is something they obviously did not tolerate too kindly. “
Dodgers game manager Dave Roberts, who has been suspended for the game, is also unsure.
“I really don’t know to be honest,” he said. “I know he got behind Bregman 3-0 and lost fastball.” I really don’t think there was an intention behind that. I think these boys are a little offended. Even the one that was Correa was a breaking ball that had just backed up. “
Astros manager Dusty Baker said Kelly was chirping to Corre, but said nothing about the mug.

“What really infuriated everyone … is when he said, ‘Nice swing b — h,'” Baker said, “then what do you do?”
Baker added: “We didn’t say anything. We won’t start anything. But we don’t take anything. “
Kelly decided to appeal the suspension.
