When we last informed The Comey Rule, the upcoming Showtime miniseries based on the former FBI director James ComeyThe best-selling book was controversial about the date of publication. Writer / Director Billy Ray sent a passionate e-mail to his busy members insisting that the show must be aired by Election Day 2020. Now it looks as if he has received his wish, because The Comey Rule it now has an official pre-election release date and the first trailer.
Jeff Daniels stars like Comey, who appears to be an increasingly worried man of integrity. Brendan Gleeson The stars are President Donald Trump, and while the trailer only gives us a glimpse and catches Gleeson̵7;s work, his voice and physical presence feel exaggerated. The rest of the star cast includes people like Holly Hunter. Scoot McNairy. Jonathan Banks. Amy Seimetz. Kingsley Ben-Adir. Brian d’Arcy James. TR Knight. Joe Lo Truglio, and many others.
From a purely artistic point of view, I’m not entirely sure if we get the best pieces of political film when they’re produced so close to what’s really going on (see: Oliver Stone, with W.). In this case, Trump has not yet completed his first term, and we are already fiscalizing his first term. How can we know what this means in a broader context so that we know what to say about it? Once again, Trump’s presidency knows no precedent, and Ray’s intention for urgent activist work is tangible and contagious. The trailer gives me shades of the popcorn-political thrillers of the 90’s and the master of “important people who talk quickly about important things”. Aaron Sorkin, Plus, All the president’s men he was not released until two years after President Nixon’s resignation. I will be watching this thing – and I imagine that Ray hopes there will be many potential voters as well.

Based on the bestseller book Comey no. 1 New York Times, The High Loyalty and more than a year of further talks with several key figures, COMEY RULE is an immersive, remarkable account of the historically turbulent events around 2016. The presidential election and its aftermath divided the nation. COMEY RULE is not a biopic image of one person, but it is the story of two powerful personalities, Comey and Trump, whose remarkably different personalities, ethics and loyalty put them on a collision course.
