California broke another record for the number of coronavirus-related deaths in one day. According to the Los Angeles Times, 58 of California’s counties recorded a cataloging of at least 189 deaths on Wednesday.
It was the second day in a row – and for the fourth time this month – that the state broke its one-day death record; 174 deaths were recorded on Tuesday.
The increasing number of victims will come more than a month after the sharp increase in new cases of COVID-19, which came with the reopening of the economy. Just before the fourth weekend of July, officials imposed new restrictions in the hope of slowing the spread of infections.
California has seen nearly 9,000 deaths since the beginning of the pandemic. Although it is often said that the state experienced far fewer deaths than New York ̵1; where 32,653 people died – other nations carried far fewer death charges than in California.
