Magnificent striker Jon Prosser said in a tense tweet on Wednesday that the upcoming grouping of the Apple iPhone 12 and the slate of the new iPads will debut in October. The timeline appears to be supported by statements by Qualcomm CFO Akash Palkhiwala.
Tweet from Prosser, which reads: “iPhone 12 […] New iPads […] October, “Apple proposes to announce or launch a series of next-generation phones and tablets a month later than the usual September release. While new iPhones are expected to be expected this fall, Apple is also preparing for a 10.8-inch. IPad Air for sale and updated iPad mini models.
A similar timetable was revealed by Palkhiwala in an interview for Reuters, An executive on Wednesday mentioned the possible launch of an iPhone with 5G support in October.
Commenting on the just-concluded third fiscal quarter, chip maker Palkhiwala said Qualcomm expects lower revenues in the next quarter due to delays in “launching the phone on the main ship”. Analysts believe the phone is an iPhone.
“We see a partial impact of the delay in launching the flagship on the phone,” Palkhiwala said. “And what we saw is a small delay that is pushing some troops for us from September to December.”
Qualcomm will supply Bandwidth chipsets for the iPhone as part of a modem licensing agreement that has ended the global legal battle with Apple. Qualcomm-powered devices will be Cupertino’s giant’s first foray into the 5G arena.
Today’s rumblings follow the predictions of the seller “iHacktu Pro”, which last week claimed that Apple plans to hold an annual event for the iPhone in September. Along with the new iPhone and “Apple Watch Series 6” models, the event is said to bring the word to a revamped iPad and a revamped AirPower wireless charger. The ploy further predicted that Apple will hold another meeting in October to announce its first Apple silicone Mac, a redesigned iPad Pro and “Apple Glass”.
