Season 4 finale This Is Us has left us so many questions. One in the forefront of everyone's mind is the relationship of Kevin (Justin Hartley) and Randall (Sterling K. Brown). Both brothers always had a rocky relationship, but this season they did well, we almost forgot.
Fans speculate on different ideas why brothers fight. One of the ideas is more credible than the others, according to showrunner, Dan Fogelman. Let's look at all three now.
Does Randall and Kevin fight with Randall's daughter Tess?
In an episode of November 19, 2019, Tess (Eris Baker) encountered an internal conflict when she left school with her friends to be gay. Kevin helps her fight and finally tells her friends through Instagram.
Some fans believe something will happen after she tells her friends, and Randall accuses Kevin of her grief.
"Maybe he's angry about Kevin and Tess's custody," one fan wrote to Reddit, "and along with helping her go out to people."
In the fall final, Randall seems to like hearing Tess's friends they took the news well. So it does not seem too likely that it will end up falling out. Two theories surrounding combat include the deteriorating situation of Rebecca.
Other fans believe that the fight between Randall and Kevin stems from their mother Rebecca and her deteriorating health. Some fans think Kevin is upset because Randall didn't tell him about her memory loss. Other viewers think this might be because Randall is trying to get Rebecca to take more aggressive treatment as soon as she gets the diagnosis.
"I suppose it's because it keeps memory problems with Rebecca and doctors are visiting the twin secrets?" He wrote one user on Instagram.
"And we'll see this argument later in a photo report," added another fan
"I bet they're angry with Randall because he knew he had dementia and didn't tell them," another editor at Reddite wrote.
"Or it could be that Rebecca does not speak to Randall," theorized another fan, "if, after being diagnosed, he promotes a more aggressive approach than she is willing to adopt."
"That could also be possible , ”One viewer replied. "I just saw Kevin ticking when he found out a few months later and felt betrayed by Randall because she is the mother of all three of them while Randall seems to like asking for dibs."
from Randall's character, " added another fan. “I feel you have an argument when a parent is really small in this state compared to what's going on. I can't imagine a scenario in which Randall would do something terrible to prevent him from seeing Rebecca. “
Fans are ripped off why Randall and Kevin are not speaking nine months in the future. However, they seem to agree that this has something to do with Rebecca's health and what will happen to her in the coming months.
Producer, Dan Fogelman confirms one theory of fans.
While theories grow in connection with the decline between Randall and Kevin, showrunner, Fogelman has at least narrowed it down for fans.
"One was an adventurer who couldn't do anything wrong, and the other was a kind of adventurer and someone who should be a little worried," Fogelman told People about Randall and Kevin. "When suddenly something is happening to a lonely remaining parent with whom they have both problems – and one of them has kept secrets and other things come into play – it would probably not be conceivable that this could be the cause of them." "I'm not talking about a year."
Although there may be other factors, it seems that many of the reasons the brothers don't say it is because Randall keeps Rebecca's health problems secret. We'll learn more when This Is Us returns to NBC on January 14, 2020.
